Time to move on, but hate the idea of looking for a new job? Then don’t!
If you’re one of those people – or just someone who is worried they will be – the prospect of going out there and finding a new job probably fills you with horror. I know it would me.
What makes it worse is the very real possibility of having to settle for something way below what you’re actually capable of. Skilled restaurant managers doing the dishes. People with real business ability stacking shelves in a warehouse. Talented, experienced people treading water because the options in front of them simply don’t do justice to what they’ve got to offer.
My advice is straightforward: don’t accept that. There is another way.
Just Pizza & Pasta is bucking the trend. Last year, we turned over more than £1.3million pounds out of our restaurant here on the Isle of Man, with this last April 20% up on the same period last year. We’ve built a business around what customers actually want today, not what they wanted 10 years ago. Great food, effective systems, and delivering on every promise we make. A place people actually want to come to.
That consistency did not come easily. It took nearly a decade of hard lessons, constant refinement, and more than a few mistakes I had to fix along the way. The business is now proven, fully documented, and working – every shift, every week, in one of the most competitive markets there is.
So why am I telling you this?
Because I want to make you an offer: instead of throwing yourself on the mercy of another employer, why don’t you join us?
I don’t mean come work for me on the Isle of Man. I mean open your own restaurant. Do what I’ve done, use my systems, my menus, and my team to make something of your own instead of waiting to see what kind of curve ball your boss will throw at you next week. Or worse, just waiting for that P45 to turn up.
When you open a Just Pizza & Pasta restaurant as one of our partners, everything I have spent ten years figuring out is handed to you from day one. You will not have to make the mistakes I made, because I have already made them, fixed them, and built them into a framework that works.
I am also deliberately doing this very differently from how a traditional franchise operates:
- There is no large upfront franchise fee, just a flat rate to cover the time it takes to get you properly set up and ready to go.
- Royalties are not taken as a percentage of your turnover. Instead, a small percentage of your profits, which means you do not pay a penny until you are actually making money.
- We will help you find and lease the right property, and whether your ambition is one restaurant or a whole area, we will be with you every step of the way.
The real question is not whether this is risky…it’s whether it’s right
I appreciate things may feel especially uncertain right now, but that’s very much the point. Sure, taking a chance might feel pretty risky right now, but is it really riskier than standing still? How certain are you staying in a “safe job” is really something you can count on? I think all these recent closures prove those old systems simply aren’t something you can count on anymore.
You can’t control the economy, the news, or what other people do, say, and think… but you can control the choices you make for yourself. You can decide to take steps that give you more security, more independence, and more control over your own life.
The real decision is not whether to take a chance. It is whether you want to be the person who makes things happen, or the one who waits for things to happen to them.
Fortune favours the bold!
If you have the skills and ambition – and, above all, you are passionate about starting your own exciting and dynamic restaurant business – you CAN make it happen!
So, if you’re seriously considering this, you don’t have to just take my word for it. Come across to the Isle of Man and see the restaurant in action for yourself. We can arrange a time to meet, I will show you around, and I will answer every question you have. Better still, come as a secret shopper first and see how busy it is on a night when I am not expecting you. Combine it with a few days enjoying the island and I promise you won’t regret it.
